So i bought warlords battlecry 2 and downloaded the 1.04 patch like everyone tells me to, but when i run the patch i get a error msg saying it can't detect WBC2 on my pc! Please help, i just wanna play this game so badly..

Move the patch to the game's folder, then try again to install.

GOG's EXE files can be a bit different from time to time

Do you have 7-zip you can unzip a self extracting EXE works with some patches too unzip the patches EXE file and if it has normal looking folders and files just copy and Paste them directly to the games directory where it has battlecry II in it!

I've tried both of the suggestions, and none work... Can't get the freaking game to work without the patch cause it crashes soon as you load it in :I

Did anyone ever find a fix to this? I can't start the game no problem, but if I start the 1.04 patch (I moved the exe into the folder where the game exe is) it says the game can't be found.

I found the fix:

There is no 1.04 patch for the GOG version of the game, so stop trying to install something that doesn't exist. The base game is already version 1.04. See the attached picture.

Where did you get your alleged 1.04 patch? Don't try to apply patches from other sources to the GOG version (unless you know what you are doing, e.g. it is a mod or an unofficial patch that is supposed to work with the GOG version).

Just tried running the game on my Win10 desktop and game worked fine without any issues.
If people are trying to run old native Windows games on their laptops (with integrated graphic cards) I suggest they create a gaming profile (like Intel allows to) using 1024x768 resolutions.

I used to have many issues playing GOG games from Win95/98 era and launching them on lower resolutions fixed that.
I suspect it could be related to the way laptop "architecture" can be different from that of desktops. Specially concerning graphic display.
