qwixter: Talk about clickbait title! I was going "Wow, gog got borderlands!?"
I wouldnt say it's clickbait. I'm curious if there are others who would an interest in the Borderlands franchise on a non-compulsory DRM service.

I'd love to be able to play all three games (and Borderlands 3, assuming it's going to be even called that) with some kind of built-in multiplayer browser away from Steam. :P
No hope ?
I just want another season of Tales from the Borderlands, but apparently it will never happen since the first one sold much worse than the endless Walking Dead and Game of Thrones crap. >Sigh<

The team working on it barely even got to properly finish the first season before being transferred to make more Walking Dead. I really hate the world sometimes.
It's not inconceivable that we might see the original Borderlands here at some point. It was available with only disc-based protection to begin with. The only catch is multiplayer, but if Gearbox can front the work for the Homeworld remasters, I'm sure they'd be willing to do the same for Borderlands with the Galaxy API. Personally, I'm fine with playing it solo, but I prefer the PS3 version simply because it offers split-screen MP that I can play with my wife.

Borderlands 2 and the Presequel were very Steam-centred from the outset, but again, not inconceivable.
To be honest, 2 years ago I would have said no chance. With the way this site is bringing on board all the industry anti-consumer practices, I would t be surprised to see each of these released here with 3 activation always on drm, micro transactions, pay per texture, of course at twice the price of steam for the GOG label, and laughingly supporting the drm free movement.

Well, Borderlands has perfectly functional LAN multiplayer, but for online multiplayer, Gearbox would need to pony up. I'm certain the investment would be completely dependent on the sales numbers of Homeworld, here on GOG.
I hope thoses games will be on gog

Oh for sure :)

The Borderlands games are great :D
Even if you add up all of the lazy duplicates, the entire Borderlands franchise seems to have extremely low interest from GOG customers according to the official GOG wishlist. There are a couple thousand votes at best for the whole franchise it seems. Contrast that with the top requested games having 20-40k votes and it seems pretty unlikely just based on that alone.

There would probably have to be 40k or more more votes for these games, and someone actively merging the duplicates so the statistics even yield useful data, and then wait N years to even stand a chance of the publisher turning their head to mumble "What's GOG?" let alone all of the other factors that make it a long shot.

Another concern I would have too, is whether GOG's back end website technology was programmed in such a manner to handle 5000 DLC being released for a single game. They might need to do some infra upgrading to even handle the Borderlands franchise. ;)

Paradox is here though...
