Greetings.

Can a Blue please move my Subspace Continuum wishlist entry from Games to Galaxy category?
*Bump*

Hello? You've said The Wishlist is a good tool and I'm showing interest in coming up with ideas to help GOG a bit so anyone there?

-Hullooo....
GOG Support doesn't read the forum. Create a ticket through GOG Support.

True but GOG keeps at least some presence on the forum.
It's a simple enough request and small things like this is good marketing and frankly I don't care enough to create a ticket. If GOG doesn't want to maintain something they say they think is useful except on their terms then well it's their loss.

"I know there's another option to let them know that would have cost less time than bitching around in my own thread, but I won't do it because I can't be bothered enough and it's their loss."

Seriously, are you listening to yourself?
Can't you just make a new entry in the right category?

I'm grumpy again about GOG not having made much progress that I know of regarding the forum and that position of social media liasion or something. Made a mistake that had me vent that grumpiness again.

Ah well. Venting done. Guess I'll go away from the forum again.

Yeah. I'll probably do that later.

Question, is Subspace/Continuum a game or a software feature? I was under the impression that it was a game, so your wish is in the right category (and a duplicate one at that).

That I can understand. I'm still hoping for the forums to get upgraded. Maybe that'll happen by 2077 hehe

Sorry for the delay. My GOG forum visits are infrequent at best. :P

It's a game. But since it's one of the oldest, if not the oldest of its subkind (There's apparently a debate about its date and other things like what kind of online game it is.) MMO'ish games I wanted to put it as a chooseable feature for Galaxy. It's very small and I think goes well with Galaxy having as a goal to promote more social...stuff for GOG that still evolve a lot around old stuff. So yeah I want a game as a chooseable Galaxy feature. Thus I wanted it in the Galaxy wishlist.

For one thing GOG could do it right and gain a huge Up Yours to Steam with its social anarchy. :P

Why? Games should not be part of a client, since that means the games cannot run without the client. And we would not be talking about "Cannot access part of the game without the client" here, but "Cannot access the game without the client", which would be a huge problem with many of the customers, and for good reason.
So for me, the wish is at the correct part of the wishlist.

P.S. What exactly is the game's subkind? Because MMOs are at least a decade older than this one, though exact age does depend on the subgenre.

Going by GOG I'd like it as both free from the client and a easy to click feature of it. The best of both worlds. Galaxy is intended to be a social feature so taking that a step further and integrating a game into it is not that a far fetched idea.

Honestly I'm bad at subgenres. I'd name it as a Massive Multiplayer Online Arcade Game. You steer a space ship much like you do in Asteroids. There are various ships with different abilities and other variables like speed and turning speed.
Though the games strength migth be its moddability. There are mods that have you fight the Star Wars Death Star battle or fighting in World War 1 trenches. Many gamers never even played the stock game.
You're fine with forcing a game on everyone who uses Galaxy, even if they don't want it? Do you not remember the outcry when Apple gave every single iTunes account a U2 album (yes, deliberately)?

No.

Do. Not. Want.

Make it available as a regular game, but do not build it into Galaxy.

I was quite okay with the social anarchy from when I registered on the site over 4 years ago (damn...).
Now we have a quite too many trolls gaming the forums and stuff like that. I know it's not that important, but for me it's still kinda unacceptable. And I also know the forums aren't that high of a priority, but I think GOG has enough money to do a thorough revamp and be done with it.

I said both. Optional. Not forced.

Yeah that would be really nice.
