Also, don't recognise the other guys name - can you give me some insight?!
Canadian arthouse filmmaker behind such films as Sicario,Enemy,Prisoners,Incendies and Polytechinque. He delivers incredibly atmospheric films and usually elevates the picture with his direction even if the script isn't all that good. He's yet to make a bad film in my book.

Scott isn't a bad director don't get me wrong but with age he's clearly shown to be not the type of guy who can save an abysmal script. Choosing to do such a massive turd as Prometheus just showed he doesn't understand what made Alien good in the first place. And I don't even know if he even understood Blade Runner to be honest. That movie has like 7 diffrent cuts.

That's debateable, but anyway, the problem is Scott made a lot of turds. Prometheus is just the worst and most obvious one, but Robin Hood was pretty bad, and Exodus is a fuck up almost as bad as Prometheus.

Even Body of Lies and American Gangster I think are overrated and forgetable, but compared to the really bad ones I guess they don't matter much.

Robert Rodriguez directed that one. Tarantino merely wrote the script and acted in the film.

Scott has a great eye for visuals. That's about it, honestly. And I love Blade Runner, one of my favourite movies ever. But in general great visuals are pretty much the only consistant thing about Scott. Even Prometheus, which is a total disaster, looks very good.

Everything is debatable; I was just being an asshole. XD

Given that 99% of the stuff I love is considered shit by 99% of the populace, I'm the last person in the world who should be judging artistic merit. :P
