I would like to use Bitcoin to credit up my account.

Whoever likes the idea just post about it.
Let's see if there is enough support among the community for introducing crypto payments.

I would be absolutely delighted to use Bitcoin in here.

Why not make an entry on the Community Wishlist, if there isn't one already?

To be honest though, I really doubt you'll get enough support for it, but you can give it a shot anyways. Can't hurt.

Why, GOG doesn't sell black market stuff or release cryptowares, or do you fear the government will track down your gaming history?

Great idea with the wishlist.
Thank You.

There should be at least some Bitcoin fans in the community.
Especially now when even Putin himself is interested in the technology :)
Community wishlist does have this one : The ability to purchase games via Bitcoin

And more community talk about getting bitcoin payment here:
Bitcoin payment acceptance
Steam now accepts Bitcoins
Buy games with BTC?

Yeah, I wanted to buy some cheat codes for Might and Magic, you know.
To buy that expensive dark magic books and black attributes boosting potions.

Seriously thou, you should look up for some more recent news about it.
I mean real news, not TV news.

This community? As in, the forum? Good luck. I honestly don't know anything about bitcoins, but something tells me you're in for a hard sell.

They are untraceable. Now what that means in a gaming community, probably not much, but you can see the potential with less reputable online transactions.

I can't imagine it would make much of a difference here but I don't care enough to push for them either.

Yeah, there's a reason those ransomware demands are for payment in Bitcoins.

In in this real news, bitcoins are not the only payment in ransomeware, used specifically for the lack of traceability? Amazing what you learn here. And this encrypted currency is necessary to buy a computer game because...? Maybe to avoid regional price or something else illegal?

Dude, You are just pushing out a false concept that it is illegal or used to do illegal stuff.
While it is completely otherwise.

For instance Japan passed the law this year stating that Bitcoin is a legal tender in whole Japan.
Also polish government recognized Bitcoin as official economy activity. This one might be important since GOG headquarters are located in Poland.
I can't believe we are fighting over virtual currency. :P

Every day that goes by pushes me one step closer to going off the grid....well totally off the grid. I'm kind of halfway off already.
I'd prefer payment in CZK instead BTC :)

Get informed about international banking, fast. Start with Venezuela and India.

Well I don't want to dwell much into technical details, but transactions in Bitcoin are actually traceable.

There are some other coins which aim to be untraceable. Most notably Monero.
It is worth noticing that this extra privacy doesn't automatically mean that one tries to conduct illegal things.

Bitcoin is more like gold. It stores value. Having value allows you to spend it on games (if GOG decide to accept it).
I am sure they will, but that might take them some time :)
