Another year's gone and I've become an year older :) Although this one didn't ended particularly well, being laid off the day before my birthday, I hope the new year will bring me a better job, and I'll be able to successfully complete my final university project :).

During the last year, or so, this community was always helpful, cheerful, and always succeeded to made my day a little better, either with funny jokes, interesting topics or with the tremendous generosity expressed thru giveaways, here on the forum. Since the giveaways are the ones responsible for bringing me here, and the interesting discussions are responsible for me wanting to stay here (And since I won so much :D) I want to express my gratitude with a little giveaway on my own.

As per the topic (participation is totally optional) let's talk about 2 things: 1 - What did you like the most and didn't like at all in the Star Trek franchise (the all movies/series/games, i.e. ST Universe) and 2 - If you're a programmer/software developer, how did you started, recommend some tutorial on your favorite language?

RULES for the giveaway:

1 - Say you're in and don't be in the scammers list (if you're in doubt, worry no more I'll do a thorough check, not only a name search in the thread);

2 - Since I want my giveaway to resembles the ones that hooked me initially I will not put a strict rep/join date requirements, instead the participants only must have positive rep (exceptions might be made Lester...) and join date august 2015 or earlier (newbies are welcomed);

3 - You may enter for someone else, but I don't see a point since, I want everyone to be happy (and to have participation) - you may do whatever you want with the game/s you win, i.e. you might gift/trade or resell them for some other game that you want more - DRM-Free all the way! :);

4 - I think all the codes are valid, but there is no 100% guarantee, and since I'm on the job market, if the key is busted, don't expect me to be able to buy it :(

5 - You may win 1 or more games (haven't decided yet)

6 - I'll choose the winners at random during the weekend.

I'd like to enter for Dead Space 2(Only Dead Space I don't own)

As I didn't get into Star Trek(Jedi all da way), I'll answer the second as a Coder.

I actually got started on a text based mmorpg with the php/html languages, as well as a few others. My tutorials all came from w3schools, as its a very good site to learn the various languages on.

Though HTML is still one of my favorites.
Hello great giveway,
count me for : Company of Heroes™ 2 - The Western Front Armies

For star trek i'm not a huge fan ... dont know why ( matter of taste may be :P who know)

and ... yep i'm a web dev. and kinda like it. if you speak french here an awesome website to start with: http://openclassrooms.com/. it was my starting point .
good luck on the dev road :)
;)
Sorry about the job. :( I am employed but have been looking for transfer/promotion for about 2 years now. Not fun.

Hopefully the new year brings bigger and better things. As for Star Trek, I Khan't think of anything too specific that I like or dislike. I mean, the bugs that crawled in the ears creeped the hell out of me as a kid. Definitely didn't like that!

Anyway, not in, but +1 for the GA. Happy bday, and hopefully the year ahead is brighter than yesterday.
Howdy!
I'm in for Earth 2150 - The Moon Project.

I actually would love to program stuff but I 'found my way' on human resources. Err... great, huh?
As for Trek, I think Data is by far one of the most well polished characters to ever hit the TV. Strangely, I find in him a model dude for everyday struggles, regarding work, relations et al. No joke.
Spiner deserves a medal for his acting, too.

Thanks!
ps: now you go eat some banitsa, listen to some valya balkanska and perform the nestinarstvo. Yup, that's all I know about Bulgaria :(
and ps#2: so cool that you found in here some relief for your daily activities. That's what I do too, sometimes :)

Happy B-Day! Hope you gonna celebrate it tonight or this week-end in some club ;)

I've never watched a Star Trek movie or episode (only a glimpse while browsing tv channels) coz well,SF isn' my cup of tea (except Doctor Who for the British humor)

As for being a dev, well, making some scripts in C# here and there makes me one I guess :o) Learned by following some examples (both in books and on web) and experimenting. I hate coding in fact ^o^

I'm in for Ionball 2 as I'm currently developing a breakout/arkanoid clone and I had already seen some videos of it, so I'll be glad to play it, for "research" purposes :o) If it's already taken, then I would like Borealis, I like this type of abstract stuff ^o^
Happy Birthday
and sorry about the job

I really enjoyed ST as a child (the movies), the thing I liked about it was that the whole sci-fi stuff I always wondered if that might be possible someday and how that applies to every sci-fi movie or series but this was the only one I knew back then and we had it on VHS. There was one thing I didn't like about it, it was the design of many differnt things, the spaceshit, the uniforms and so on. It's just my personal tast but it slway bothered me.
I stopped watching it several years ago, because I already knew them and they got boring and because I stopped enjoying to watch TV.

I'm not a dev it never was the line of work I was interested in.
I can programm a in C++ though which we learned in school and I will learn Fortran soon at universtiy.

I'm in for Blue Rose, it looks and sounds interesting and I really enjoy VNs (Visual Novels).
Woo-Hoo! More party to come! : D
Not in, and not really ST fan, but if you're looking for something to start with, try thecplusplusguy : ) Thank you for the giveaway leon30! ++
Very generous giveaway. Happy Birthday! +1

Not in.
Happy Birthday
I like Star Trek because science and technology always fascinated me.
It always reminds me of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command animated tv series which I used to watch as a kid.

"To Infinity And Beyond"
Not in but.. Happy Bitrhday!
Happy birthday! Not in.

I've spent most of my youth watching Star Trek, but i liked the most unStartrek series the most, namely Deep Space 9. Birth of the Federation was one of my favorite games, i even contributed on a fan-remake.

As for coding, i started ages ago with Pascal and then Delphi. At some point though i made the switch to C/C++. If i would have to start nowadays i'd start with either Python or Ruby and then maybe either C# or Java. Being proficient with one or more of these ensures lots job possibilities. I certainly wouldn't start with C++. It confuses the hell out of most beginners and to work in C++ you have to be very good with it. Another advice that i would give: pick an idea and try to implement it. You can start with virtually anything like a cardgame etc. Good luck on learning and getting a job.
Not in, but +1, thanks for the generous giveaway and a very happy birthday to you!
Not in but Happy Birthday.
Have a great day.
Happy Birthday!

Not in, but +1
