RoseLegion: "The first GWENT expansion introduces over 100 cards, including 31 neutral and 14 faction cards per each faction." I'm down.
I know it's not the popular oppinion but I actually played the beta of GWENT, got boared and put it down, tried it again, once more played for a bit then got board and put it down. Since launch I've played more than either of the prior times, played more consistantly too, and am enjoying myself more. Also have friends who are now playing it consistantly when they never really got into it during the beta (even though they tried it).
So I'm quite happy to see an expansion, and since I'm currently playing around with TW3 when classes permit the time (that game will eat my world if I let it) and dealing with many of the vampires in the game (sewers, gotta love 'em) this is aptly timed for me.
The only small cloud of concern in an otherwise appealing situation is that I really hope they don't do what other CCGs both digital and physical have done (I'm looking at you MTG and Hearthstone) and start pumping out so many cards that they have to begin to forcably retire cards from ranked play thus creating a treadmill for collecting and deckbuilding making it really hard for new players to get into the game and (especially in the case of MTG) essentially requiring anyone who wants a shot at playing ranked to dump large sums of money (last time I really played MTG it was nearly $300 per release) consistantly just to stay in the game.
Thus far there's no sign of that happening, and this is CDPR so I'm cautiously hopeful, but I've seen too many CCGs go down the MTG route so I'm reflexively worried about it now :P
PS - GOG, we're getting Darkest Dungeon 2 here, right?
I can agree with the MTG sentiments as well. I myself am also a FORMER MTG player and while in my earlier adulthood kept up with the constantly churning and burning formats it got to be too much for me. Gwent fills the whole in my life that MTG left when I quit that game.
