It`s everywhere! Amazon, ebay, AliExpress internet...

You have been warned : ) Have a nice day! ^

@"It is worth noting that there are sadly, dozens of fake 1TB and 2TB memory cards available on open marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon for rock-bottom prices. We strongly discourage anyone from purchasing them; they are big, fat scams.

Please make a research on official websites before buying a product.

I didn`t and can jingle bells with5 x 2TB fake metal usb memory sticks (metal is real, capacity is fake) shame!
Correctly formatted now size 8GB? This type of scam was around thirty years ago already. It is very easy to fall for it.
Yeah, that's been a thing. It's kind of hard since Amazon takes the "free for all" approach.
Happened to me many moons ago, via a couple of Ebay purchases for an iPod nano (3rd gen) 8GB and an iPod Shuffle (2nd gen) 2GB. Both of them had a real formatted (initialised) capacity of 1GB each, and the interface and battery life of them were abysmal, illogical, and barely functional... Never buy copies, or items at prices that seem unbelievable, because, they usually are...
Incredible how "well" it pretends to be 1.91TB. G-Parted, Windows Formatting Tools, EaseUS Partition, none could find anything wrong with those USB Flash Drives...

...until...

The https://rmprepusb.com/ program RMPrepUSB_Portable_v2.1.746_password_is_rmprep helped to find this, which are non-existent blocks.... because of 30days money back guarantee I can send it back, often, sellers do not know what they are selling so the time-waste is on us

: )

Hmmm 8 years or so ago the hardware was being tweaked so it showed it was far larger than it should have been. Was quite a problem for a while. I remember looking over to get different sized sticks, and the 1TB and 2TB sticks also showed up then. I figured 64Gb was the upper limit at the time, so everything else had to be fake, so that seller i just didn't trust at all since all the products looked the same.

Though when i bought something like 16 2Gb microSD's in 2014 i scrutinized them and tested them (put stuff on, disconnect to clear memory cache, reconnect, compare files and data block), when satisfied i gave the okay. they still work okay, though they were likely 3rd shift products as many cheaper items are.

Remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
You buy cheap, you buy twice.

Can't believe we still have to write articles about that...

Good ol' GOG promo offers excepted of course!
I intentionally buy tech stuff only from retailers who don't use third-party marketplace systems because of all this fake shit that gets mixed into their supply. Usually tends to cost about the same, too. The only thing I bought from Amazon in the last few years was a pair of shoes.

I wouldn't buy anything off them, not even a dildo. And then there was the blatant ripoff that was Amazon Prime subscriptions, that they shove you on without you knowning and charge a monthly fee for it, that you've no idea you're paying, and it's just for a slightly "faster" delivery service when you do buy some of the shit from those shills! :D
