I have said game in my Wishlist. It was originally listed as "playable on 13th January". That ship has sailed, the game is still not ready, but each day, the "playable on xxx" is shifted to the next day. Today is 15th, the title is "playable on 16th".

This seems like a shady practice to me, IMO GOG should not endorse such tactics, and I wholeheartedly pity people who pre-ordered.

I just pre-ordered because I thought I could play it today, crap :(
IMO it's borderline scam. I don't understand how GOG can be okay with such a practice.

For what it's worth, it remains unreleased on steam as well with a vague "2024". So it is definately a problem with the dev.

Btw thanks to your post i discovered what looks like an interesting game. Thanks for that. Won't be much longer hopefully.
Regardless of how interesting the game might be when it is finally released, AFAIK the laws in most countries prohibit to bait payments for products in advance based on false promises. If the developer takes money from you and promises to deliver a game on a given date, they are legally bound to do so. The law has a term for baiting payments from people using false promises and deception - fraud.

GOG grants refunds up to one day before release, ensuring there is no risk involved when deciding to place a pre-order.

Here is an official statement from one of the developers on the situation.

To avoid further complaints and accusations, it would be best to remove "Playable on January 17, 2024" from the store page and replace it with "Coming Soon" until an actual release date becomes known.

The publisher didn't configure the game page properly on GOG. I warned them about the issue two weeks ago but never got an answer from them. So I warned them again and linked your post to their official Discord, we'll see if we can get an answer from them this time...

As for me, if they don't respond by the end of the week, I'll ask for a refund and never purchase any game from them ever again (sorry for the devs who work with them).

The bug seems to have finally been fixed.
Honestly it looks to me like one of GOG's usual mistakes, the publisher and dev may not have had anything to do with it.

It doesn't matter whose fault it was, the publisher is supposed to handle customer support for their games. I've sent them 3 messages on their official Discord about this issue in the past 2 weeks, the issue was still present an hour ago and I never got an answer to any of my messages.

And for the record, I'm not upset because someone made a mistake, we all do, myself included; But when I purchase a product I expect at least some level of customer support, and the bare minimum they could do is to answer when someone has an issue with their product.

Even a simple sign of appreciation, such as a response like "Thank you for making us aware of it," would have been the very least. Despite their lack of response, and even though it doesn't mean much, I want to express my gratitude for the efforts you put into reaching out to them. It's truly appreciated!
