Is it TIE Fighter? Nope. KotOR? Way off. Jedi Knight? Not even close! As anyone with even half a brain would guess, it's...Starfighter. Because, obviously.

You are aware that the programmer who implemented the "by bestselling" sort order of the catalogue is the same programmer who implemented the "by title" sort order of the library, right?
well, it's kinda normal, it has the most "star"s in the title! ;)

Strange, I get the reverse (almost) where Starfighter is the *least* popular Star Wars game on gog.com and the second to last popular game of the Lucasarts games on gog.com (one above Afterlife)

I'm thinking (and hoping) that's just some sort of glitch. I would think maybe KOTOR would be the best-selling, and I never would have guessed Starfighter.

It seems to only happen when you enter "Star Wars" in the search field.

I noticed Starfighter is always first, no matter what order is selected, even by title.

I first thought you made a joke but that is spot on! oO

List best selling "Star Wars" puts Starfighter #1, listing only "Wars" puts Tie Fighter followed by X-Wing on the first Star Wars Games spots.

Heh, you're right. I guess it's attempting to sort by term relevancy first and then by best selling. I still have no idea how the results are sorted on the forums' search, though. GOG works in mysterious ways.

If I were to venture a guess, it could be that their "best selling" is the most number of copies of the game sold. After looking at the game, the graphics still look as if they aged well and compared to other games on that list (even if the rating isn't as high), it does have a fairly low price point at $5.99.

It may have sold more copies due to its pricing. Galactic Battlegrounds Saga, while at the same price point, is a different genre of game --which could indicate that more people liked the shooters than they did the real-time strategy. I could definitely see this....
You mean it's not Rogue Squadron ? :(
I'd bet it's KotOR

I'd be willing to bet money that the order in your result is the accurate one, and this is indeed just a glitch. I'm not sure if it's for some reason "wrapping around", so that the game at the end of the list is somehow showing up at the beginning, or if something else is happening, but TIE Fighter is almost certainly the actual best-selling Star Wars game on GOG to date (owing to the fact that it was never sold online as a download before), and the others look like they'd be in about the right place, too, relative to when they were released here and how sought-after they were.
I just thought this was funny.
They GOGed that link up.

http://www.gog.com/games##search=disney&sort=bestselling&page=1 - it's TIE Fighter.
I get the same thing. Not a problem, really, but... why?
