"1980 saw the Penrose appear without warning or fanfare. One day the sky was empty, and the next it was filled by an impossibly shaped monolith.

Governments laid claim to this magnificent structure and assembled an investigation team to learn about its origin and purpose.

Penrose technology was reverse engineered, accelerating our understanding of physics, materials and computing by centuries. Mankind hurtled forward on an alternative historical trajectory.
The world rejoiced...

Discovered at the very heart of the Penrose, a terminal revealed an unencrypted line of text: “I WILL FIX THIS. MARK LESLIE”.
Desolation would ensue..."

I'm very much interested. I'm tempted to actually break my "No Kickstarter" rule for this one. I think they should have allowed for more time for the KS though. 24 days is kind of short.

I hope they'll release Cayne, the free prequel to STASIS, on GOG. It's already out on Steam.

I did notice Cayne was out and was a bit put off it didn't get a simultaneous release here and am wondering what is up with that.

I've only ever backed 5 projects (this being my 5th), so, it's a good rule to have, but, there are some projects that are worth it, this is very likely one!!!

I've [strike]just spent 20 minutes[/strike] now looked at as much as I can [strike]looking around at their development stuff[/strike], and I'm [strike]sooo[/strike] SOOOOOOOOOOOO impressed and excited!!!

- I usually have a "don't look much at all" policy because I just want to go into games as much of a blank as possible, but I couldn't resist and know it is going to be A WHILE until it's out/I get to playing it, so, I allowed myself!! oOOO booy am I glad I did!! GO BACK THIS GAME!!!

They did say they were planning to - but I presume that's going to take a back burner for the duration so that they can concentrate on the KS campaign.
I'm surprised they've already hit a quarter of their goal, since there seems to be little to no news coverage about this KS.

Well, they have a lot of satisfied backers from their previous campaign (STASIS), and they have all been informed ahead of time via email.
Already backed this. SO excited! ( :

It's disappointing though, that Cayne isn't available on GOG yet, but it's out on steam.
Should have been released on both sites at the same time.
looking good! 15$ Early Bird almost looks like a no brainer
Backed

Well, The Brotherhood can't add it to GOG themselves, and given that it's free, it might not be all that high on GOG's list of priorities (if indeed they want it here at all).

This ^

I'd be surprised if GOG didn't accept Cayne even if it's free, as is a prequel to Stasis. But GOG's always kind of a wild card. They rejected having the free game Heroine's Quest here in spite of it being one of the best Quest For Glory like games out there.

They probably rejected it because there is no money to be made from a free game.

Yes, I understand that. Which is the same conundrum Cayne faces.
And I know it's very subjective and all, but to me it's the wrong move. Some games should be featured regardless, specially in a store that is also a love letter to the games of yesteryear. Specially with games like Heroine's Quest, made with Adventure Game Studio and very small in size.

No, it's not. Cayne has a non-free Deluxe Edition.

Don't shoot the messenger, I would be the first one to welcome more great quality yet free games on GOG. Heck I might even try to bring Birth of the Empires here... Alas I don't think it's a priority for GOG.
