I only recently found out about it and really enjoyed the content - wanted to bring it up for anyone who might be interested.

It's particularly relevant, I think, to any modern forum dweller, as it documents how people slowly consolidated a system through which they could communicate online via text messages, and do various other things, by running a piece of software on a central server others could (painstakingly) dial into.

It looks very interesting, will definitely watch! Thanks for sharing this.
Bumping this up a bit - hopefully people that would have missed it a couple of days ago will see it.
Thanks, I've been watchting in bits, the low res can't be helped I guess as the doc was released in 2004. There's also a lot to stop for and Google to know more as it's mentioned.
Nice, thanks a lot for sharing!
Thanx...
It reminds me the good old days of PCBoard BBS
The sequel, also by Jason Scott: GET LAMP: the text adventure documentary.

I'll have to check it out. My first couple of emails were sent via a FIDOnet gateway.

Thanks! I don't really see it a sequel since the topic is very different, but it was interesting nevertheless.
