Congrats on defeating your backlog, Ghorpm. That is mighty impressive.
Now that you get to replay the games you actually enjoy, the real fun begins!
If I may, I'd like to be in for
<span class="bold">genkicolleen</span>, please.
My GOG backlog is pretty puny but it just takes me so long to get into a game.
Sometimes I'll install a game and play around with the controls and settings for an hour.
Then I'll leave the game for a week or three and forget almost everything I learned in that hour - but still retain a little something.
Then I'll come back the next time, learn a bit more and retain a bit more, until I've finally eased my way into being comfortable with the controls and how the game is supposed to be played. Then I play.
It's hard to just jump in and rip through a game.
As a child in the '80s I had a dream that I was walking through the park as usual and by the edge of the woods I came upon a box, like a treasure chest, that was filled with Nintendo games. It was so vivid and felt so real that when I woke up I thought it was true, but reality slowly dawned on me until I felt a terrible sense of loss.
Well, now my dream has essentially become not only real, but overwhelming for many of us. And there will be no sense of loss - we aren't even threatened by DRM. We have only to discipline ourselves and to hack away at our bounty.
Seriously, though, aren't we living in a dream with all these games? It's unbelievable.
Anyway, I don't know where this belief comes from that a game must be finished, but I seem to share it. So cheers to you for being an inspiration. I look forward to replaying my games, eventually.
