I sometimes edit mine for events like Christmas or for the Under Construction protest a couple of years ago, but the image is basically the same. The original image was a bit different, I did a little retouching. And why a dragon? Because exactly that's my family name's meaning in my native language.

The black thing in my avatar is a rotated Mandelbrot set.

You know, the set that you get when you iterate z^2 + c at every point c and check whether it goes off to infinity, right? Specifically, the set consists of those points where it does *not* go off to infinity, but you already know that, right?

(By the way, in the complex domain, there's only one infinity; there's no distinction between "positive" and "negative" infinity when that concept is mentioned.)
