I really respect the devs of "No Man's Sky" for their decision, not to follow the manifold examples of devs who jump on the "ever deeper discounts" train only to make a quick buck, while ignoring the fact that they devalue their games with that behaviour in the mid to long run.
Seven (?) years on the market now, and the highest discount I've seen so far is 50% off.

Dear Sirs and Madams, I tip my hat.

GOG.com: Moreover, the game’s Update 4.4 – ECHOES – has just been released, (...)
Somehow, my first thought was that the NMS devs introduced a crossover to the game ECHO. But apparently it's just another milestone update.
It seems the dictionary doesn't hold enough words to make every game (and their updates/expansions/dlcs) unique.

NMS continues to be a weird case where it seems like the devs just want to keep offering new content for free to years to make up for a bad launch.

More than enough for this purpose (update names, that is) -- but they probably don't want to release (e.g.) the "Burlap", "Contusion" or "Dullard" updates. ;P

Somewhat related, I've never seen Rimworld below 10% off before (somewhere around 5 years old I believe), but now it's 20% off.

I think a large consideration in cases like NMS, Terraria, and plenty of other non-subscription-based-yet-perpetually-in-development games these days is not wanting to rock the boat. If you keep working on your game post-release, and the sales stay pretty steady (or even increase!), it's probably going to be pretty tempting to just keep doing what you're doing for as long as it's sustainable (both financially and in terms of creative contentment/fulfillment). It's also one reason why so many creators -- small and large, in various entertainment media -- tend to make sequels and other similar follow-ups to their successful works, rather than trying to do something different more often: it's just safer to make more of what you've already done that you know people liked.

It's wild to think that NMS must still be selling enough for Hello Games to still be so focused on just the one game.

They increased the price of the game last year. The 20% discount is pretty much the 10% discount from before said increase.

Aha...very sneaky.
