Just noticed that this is going to be featured on Thursday during this year's all digital SGDQ event.

Since a certain other Silmarils classic got community wishlist-voted the shit out of as a direct result of the GDQ spotlight before, ultimately leading to the well-deserved digital re-release last year - how about we commence with the voting a little earlier this time:

I'd never heard of this game, but after watching some gameplay videos...

WOW...

Would be great to see this on GOG (along with Severance!). I'm sold

Thanks for letting me know about this game!

You're welcome.

The old keeping-fingers-crossed in regards to the rights situation may be required too, by the way.
If all of the rights have not reverted back to Silmarils in the meantime and Ubisoft still retains part of the publishing rights, that is.
Based on what I'm seeing and reading, I wouldn't compare this with BoD... Not saying there's no place or audience for it, in fact when I'm seeing the "so bad it's good" comments about Arabian Nights I'm guessing it'd fit the same bill, but just that it's definitely not a comparison I'd be making.

I'm not familiar with this game, but I love those late 90's - early 2000's third person h&s, action-adventure games. Back then I didn't have problem with clunky controls, bad camera movement/angles, etc. Not so sure I would have same patience today though. Anyway, it is nice to learn about more games from that period.
I don't remember finishing this way back when, so I certainly wouldn't mind the opportunity to rectify that.
Nowadays a glide wrapper might be mandatory to get it to run consistently and in a stable manner but come to think of it you actually might be able to just hook it up with the configuration profile for Arabian Nights, since they both share the same engine (I think?).

Also - there's no such thing as having too many 90s VERY janky Tomb Raider/Prince of Persia 3D clones on your store.

nGlide seems to support it well - https://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide/compatibility - though the note next to it says " To play on Win7 and later you must replace '_st_3dfx.exe' from here - https://www.zeus-software.com/files/nglide/asghan_patch.zip "
Yeah dragon "Slayer" yeah "Slayer"

If I'm watching the right videos, this reminds me of the Gothic games.
Asghan: The Dragon Slayer. Asghan: The Dragon Slayer definitely has to be one of the worst Tomb Raider clones of the 1990s.
oof. it's the first thing that appears when i search for it. https://oldpcgaming.net/asghan-the-dragon-slayer/
