I do a non-lethal run here and there, but since in every game I have tried to kill everyone on sight at least once, I should say no.

TARFU: Oh, I saw that post of yours. Thought you were talking about the difficulty in general, not the instant game over for killing people. As I recall, in the later levels of Thief, you can kill those annoying mantis-men (damn your eye!). And, you didn't mention Splinter Cell at all...but don't worry, it's all good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY7EDBvVy3c

tinyE: True story:
I tired that hardest difficulty once on the 1st level and kept losing over and over and over at the exact same spot. I'd blackjack a guy, move him back out of the light, put him down, and lose.

I did this half a dozen times, going nuts, unable to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong. Eventually I took a step back and realized I kept setting him back down in a puddle and he kept drowning. ;P
The little known and deadly indoor puddle endangers the lives of countless guards. Won't you donate today and save a guard's life? For such a small amount of money, you can make a difference. (cue Sarah McLachlan music)

Gonen32: When the game allows it, I usually go for non lethal.
Really depends on the type of game.

I tend to play RPG/adventure games where your character is a blank slate and they let you chose your moral compass as a NG warrior, not using violence as a first resort, but not shying away from it either.

In RPG/adventure games where the character has at least a somewhat defined personality, I tend to play as I feel the character would.

In any game where your character is evil or in action games, I tend to be a total psycho. In particular, in any game where I wield a light saber and force powers, my moral compass completely goes out the window. Same if you put me on a race track with a car. I will drive you off a cliff if I get the chance and laugh like a maniac as I'm doing it.

In most strategy/god games, I tend to play as a cold pragmatist, taking whichever direction is most expedient to my goal.

tinyE: You mean the mouse committing necro? How is that harming anyone? Sure, it might be disrespectful to the dead mouse and his/her family, but it's not harming anyone.

BUT BACK ON TOPIC.
The more passive you are the higher you score in The Thief games, but those higher levels make it a super pain in the ass! :P
"BUT BACK ON TOPIC"? You un-derailed a thread? I believe that's worth noting for posterity
