I check in on the Galaxy 2.0 wishlist every so often, because I'd love to see a mobile companion app. The mobile app wish is fairly high rated, but there are many lower rated wishes that ask for the same thing. I've requested to merge the wishes to the higher rated one, and even though I've done this a few times since 2020, nothing has changed. Has anyone had success with a wish merge request?
I wish you'd post this in the Galaxy subforum.

Now I wish it again.

I'll just consider my two wishes merged.

Silliness aside - nobody knows if the GOG people even look at the community wishlist - so a million votes on one wish or a million 1-vote wishes... it might not even matter.
Community wishlist? Maybe you want to ask about it in this post: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/post_here_any_wishlist_entries_that_should_be_completed_or_uncompleted

I asked to remove/merge similar wishes for Kyrandia game a long time ago, and GOG actually removed some of them (except for 1 or 2 asking Linux working title), but I don't recall they mentioning the actual merge or that the vote count was changed with added votes for the main Wishlist entry, and I'm not sure it's that easy for GOG to allocate who voted what and add only new unique votes, however technically it should be possible.
So my answer is that a *merge* for Wishlist entry is definitely possible (through deletion of duplicating entries) but I can't confirm that the vote counting would be changed appropriately.
I've reported a ton of duplicate wishes and they were still there last I checked. I even came across multiple spam wishes dating back 5+ years.
In the past there have been complaints about botched merges: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/whats_with_the_disappearing_wishlist_entries

So be careful what you, er, wish for.

I'm asking about Community Wishes in general, not just Galaxy wishes.

I asked in there, thanks!

I would hope that if they're deleting a post, they're also adjusting a score at the same time, but who knows.

Oof. That's... not a good sign.

Remember folks, the wishlist is still in beta :)

Such complicated functionality might not work correctly. Maybe 5 more years in beta will help.

Just 5? O.o
I think 50 is much more accurate. :p
There has been at least one recorded case where there has been some, shall we say, underhanded trickery on gog's part to get rid of a wishlist entry: The entry "No regional censorship on gog, EVER!" wish got merged with the "Uncensored versions of games." wish when gog introduced massive regional censorship when they opened up their German storefront.

PS: But yeah, sometimes duplicate entries get merged - after all, it's in gog's interest if a lot of people ask for a certain game here. Maybe ask one of the staffers to check it out. Though, if they don't plan to make a mobile app, they probably don't want to merge those wishes for extra visibility. ;-P

Same here. It's a waste of my time to make the effort to report duplicates when nothing is corrected.

If you do a search for "http" you can see multiple pages of the more obvious spam entries, many posted at least as far back as 2015.
