Leroux: IIRC, The Long Dark was here on GOG, but got removed at some point. No idea why. I'm assuming a lot of these games come with community features and still receive updates and the devs perceive it as too cumbersome to make all that compatible in a way that GOG requires? But I really don't know. Especially since Subnautica is on Epic, too, so I suppose it can't be just that.

Lone_Scout: The fun fact is The Long Dark is still receiving regular updates on GOG (the only removed game that keeps doing it AFAIK) The devs promised they would keep the game updated after removal and are true to their word.
It would be interesting to know why it was removed. Also, what (if anything) is happening with Subnautica as well.
What about https://www.gog.com/game/the_solus_project ?
I am enjoying Planet Nomads atm in survival mode: https://www.gog.com/game/planet_nomads
Kenshi maybe?
Fallout New Vegas has some survival and crafting elements in it.

Time4Tea: I am just wondering if there are any 3D FPP survival crafting games on GOG at all? As far as I can see, there seems to be a conspicuous lack of this type of game on here. Why is that?

There are lots of interesting-looking FPP survival games on Steam: the Forest, Subnautica, Rust, the Long Dark, Ark, to name a few, but none appear to be on GOG. There are some survival crafting games on here, but they all seem to be 2D - Don't Starve, Darkwood, This War of Mine.
The stupidly titled P.A.M.E.L.A. might interest you, if you're interested in an "abandoned space station"-type game. (Not actually a space station, AFAIK, but a similarly futuristic, self-contained "city" setting.) I haven't played it, but there was a pretty good stream of it on the GOGcom Twitch channel that should still be viewable as a VOD for a few more weeks, if you wanted some more info about it.

Anothername: Even this is covered in the vid :P

Basically its worth it if you into this type of game but it appears to be on sale quite often so if you also suffer from backloggeritis just add to the w-list and wait it out :)
How much of a survival aspect is there in NMS? From the reviews I've seen, I get the impression you get quite a lot of advanced gear thrown at you right from the start - spaceship, space suit, robots, mining lasers, etc. Is it actually survival-focused, or is it more of a sandbox exploration/trading game? I'm just trying to get a feel for what it actually is ...

Solus Project looks great, thanks! Going on my (ever growing) wishlist :-)

Ok, that one looks interesting too. Although, some of the reviews are quite negative, saying it requires an internet connection for single-player. Some even claiming the game is abandoned?(!)

Thanks. I had a look at some video reviews for PAMELA and the concept looks very cool, although I got the impression it has a lot of bugs and isn't really 'finished'. I'd be interested to give it a try if it gets patched or modded at some point to fix it up.

You have to work and research for it. Even your ship is a broken mess at start. The lethality of your surroundings depend of the planet you are exploring. Once you have a base of operations things gets easier of course. There might be other better suited towards how hardcore you can set things up since I try to keep it more sandbox-exploration focused with my on/off play style ;)

It does have an optional permadeath mode if thats your thing.
