Once in a blue moon an unforgettable anime shows up and you can help but want to spread the word. I know a lot of gamers like myself are also anime fans. So, I thought I'd spread the word of this beautiful and warm. slice-of-life show.

The last episode aired this past Thursday and should be free to watch for non-subscribers on Crunchyroll this coming Thursday. The other 23 episodes are available now to watch for free.

I'll say a few things about the show without giving away any spoilers (hopefully):

The main story is about two young women who are struggling with the dreams they had hoped to achieve in their lives. There are 24 episodes and the story is told in two arcs from episodes 1-12 and 13 to 24. You'll easily see the reason why once you get to those points.

It begins when they meet at aquarium and is joined by many a wonderful cast of characters along the way as the story unfolds. Each episode broadens the story and is generally centered around the aquarium, but don't let that simple description fool you.

Each episode has a deep meaning and you begin to realize along the way how truly connected life is, both the people in it and the life around them. There’s a tiny touch of the magical/mystical to it, but you’ll understand why it still doesn’t push it into the fantasy genre as follow the series and remains a true slice-of-life.

This show is about the journey. The struggles along the way. Gaining the insight and strength to overcome them. Meeting new people and understanding appearance and first impressions alone is enough to judge their life by. And above all, it’s about the kindness and compassion that people are capable of when they are willing to open their hearts and be there to support each other.

This is a story that’s not hard to imagine for ourselves if we chose that path in life. It’s just more magical seen on the screen.

The art and animations are all amazing to watch and fit so well with the story. If you like creatures of the ocean, this will be an added bonus. Add to that the wonderful opening and endings songs and you would be hard pressed to find any flaws unless you're willing to look through a microscope.

Last, but not least, the ending was done in such a way as to leave you fully satisfied. Though I wouldn't mind an OVA/Special episode, a part of me rejects that idea, it was simply that complete.

This is a show worthy of praise and I just wanted to take this moment to share that in the hopes that more people will get to enjoy it. :)

Bump.

Had to try one last time to get the word out. :)

Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me that I had a similar experience once, with a Japanese/French co-production called 'Secret of Cerulean Sand'. It is a tale of a young girl in a world of alternative 1800's tech who goes on a quest to find her lost brother. It is utterly beautiful, and though it seems aimed at a middle grade audience, like all great storytelling it transcends its target group.

I'll have to check it out, thanks for sharing also.

And Merry Christmas, if you celebrate and if not, then happy holidays!

seriously?

I'm just into anime because of some jutsu/gore fascination. Youtube recommendations brought me onto the track of JUJUTSU KAISEN which fits perfectly into the traditional anime benching i usually have during the christmas holidays, though i haven't seen any fights on the level of Bleach or Naruto halfway through their seasoning rouses it is sweet enough.

Also available on crunchy roll

ofc i won't comment on anyone who likes to visit their dreams differently ;)

thanks though

That was an interesting anime, though for some reason I lost track of it. I think it started the season before last riight?

The action for this season for me was pretty much the show 86 Eighty-Six and that ending song is mind blowing that it fits so well with the ending of each episode.

I wanted to respond to your op but I was out of town for a few days. Anyways, this anime is new to me, so I just watched the first episode and I enjoyed it. It's beautiful, like poetic anime usually are. Aquatope puts you in a good mood, for sure. In case you weren't aware of it, this series deserves to be in this thread: What anime series are worth watching.

And like Instaboy said, thanks for sharing!

Very nice thank you, I didn't know about that thread.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, it's left quite an impression on me out of all the animes this year. It truly is how you described it. :)

I'll see if I can put a Crunchyroll link tonight or maybe tomorrow for that anime on that thread.
