The answer to your question is no. :)

Only if you grab the wingman and attach the mod to it. You must be aware though, anything beyond a blue armour set will soak up two headshots, so don't tap and closes for the kill. It pays to carry a fast firing weapon to keep the pressure on anyone trying to push, also don't waste your Q ability in a blind panic, that's your major asset in most engagements.
