no, imo it is not worth it to pay big bucks for it when an excellent free alternative exists:

Used to play it, got it Free with a one year sub to WoW, but I lapsed on my sub, and it got taken away. the first level was ok, and the second, I was at the last, level Hell I think it was called. but it was a joke, there was no gold, hardly any gear / weapon drops [Upgrades ]

all due to the real money AH, I was trying to zerg the game but to no avail, lots of people complained that it was a PTW game [which it was]

They removed the RMAH from what I read, maybe it's better now.

D3 was better before level-scaling. There isn't much point in playing it now though, it feels very generic without any direction. With a bit of patience you can gain max level before killing Skeleton King. Account-wide stuff also damaged replayability. You start new character and have most of achievements done, Blacksmith/Enchanter upgraded, you inherit even Paragon Levels. Not much to look toward unless you enjoy loot lottery for the sake of lottery and not for the sake of loot and character progress.

Classic D3 was much better on launch (if to ignore server downtime thanks to always-online DRM), just so happened that loot was heavily nerfed multiple times and classes nerfed to the ground after release to accommodate the presence of RMAH. Speaking as someone who have beaten Diablo on Inferno mode before most of the nerfs.

Ghostbreed: I bought new armor at a vendor in Tristram and put it on. Red. So I guess my default armor is indeed supposed to be piss yellow. Ah well, so it's no bug or glitch then.
I fired up the game today (after a long time) and my armor was yellow too. I painted it succesfully tough.
Did we forget having yellow armors or is there a bug changing old clothes to yellow? xD

Elenarie: Depending on the class and armour set. The yellowish / goldish armour is supposed to be angelic-themed armour.

Navagon: If it wasn't for Kickstarter turning things around a bit then I might feel the same. Kinda sad that it takes crowd funding to make that happen though.
I keep finding more and more proof and working examples that show you really don't need electricity or modern conveniences... Modern conveniences like AC merely make it so they can lazily build a house without doing any real thought into if it would be comfortable to live in.

Not to say i'd want to build a forge and make my own nails, but 90% of today's technology can go out the window... Truth is, if we lose the grid, a lot of us are going to have a very very very painful slap of reality, especially if it lasts longer than a few hours/days...
