A new faction is being made and lets see how this will be once gameplay comes out

If it helps, MemoriesIn8Bit (one of the GOGcom Twitch stream team) did a livestream of the game yesterday (haven't watched it myself, though -- nor have I played that game).

Also, if you haven't tried Act of War already, I quite like what I've played of it, and it's currently part of one of the bundles. ;)

I am watching the stream and LOVING IT so far I just need to see some more gameplay and I am buying it today, cause it seems like EA won't bring C&C here anytime soon... and I did look at act of war and for some reason it does not tickle my fancy. only this one so far cause it looks like an exact clone of the old C&C 95

I wonder if that was the best choice..

TB released a WTF earlier today. The game is responsive and solid, however only has one faction, and the story is almost totally lacking. Worse the units are effectively generic. Generic tank, generic marine, generic helicopter, etc, with no personality of their own. However since the programmers are from the original C&C team, it's not a surprise they got the game to look, feel, and play very similarly to C&C as we remember from decades past.

TB believes the game probably should have been put on early access rather than a full release, since it's missing content (namely factions/unique units) and as such they probably released the game as it in order to get funding to continue/complete it; Which is sorta too bad as it's release as it is may end up harming it.

Only time will tell.

Its C&C like but with more simplified gameplay and several times faster gameplay. Definitely a game that comes the closest to C&C games in the last decade.

I like the game somewhat, It feels unfinished and missing a lot and I mean A LOT for some reason.. I LOVE the gameplay but just something is missing :( </3

This should be early access and not a full product for the price, I thought there was a lot more to this not just 8 maps and 1 faction. Should be like 5.99 for this :(


pros: it feels like old c&c but faster and fluid and fun replay sometimes but the cons kick in which ruin the game from keeping me playing which is lack of content and such.

Hmm. Well, hopefully, the devs will be smart and release at least some of the content they're planning as free updates.
At least the gameplay that exists seems fun....

I contacted support and asked for a refund cause this product does not feel complete at all and it should be in the early access section in it's state, so I hope i get the refund and wait till a later time to get it when it has something to give. cause after a few matches I was like yeah great I am bored...

Maybe in another year, they'll release the Super Complete Enhanced Edition that will contain what people would've expected from it upon its original release, kinda like with that Caribbean! game. =)

Good luck with your refund request (though I wouldn't get my hopes up, since you already downloaded and played it).

This is why you should wait for reviews. Waiting a week or so isn't so bad for getting the heads up of how it plays looks and behaves.

I'm glad I didn't pick this up right away. It seems like a lot of the reviews instantly spam 5 stars because 'OMG it's 8-bit C&C!' - except further reading suggests that it isn't.

That doesn't mean it'll be a bad game, but I'll wait until a sale rather than pay £10 plus for a game that is described as lacking content. Plus, having to buy the Soundtrack separately is a dick move.

It's really well made, but the game is too fast for me atm. I think the game would really benefit from reduced harvester (edit or just fewer oil rigs perhaps - in SP I quickly earn credits faster than I can spend it) hauls and lengthened build times. Also, some sort of diminished benefit on build speeds if you build too many production buildings. You can churn out units at a very fast pace after a while with several production buildings. I'll probably return to it once another faction has been included along along with whatever balance changes has been made by then.
