zeroxxx: Who defends what? I'm answering question.

Logic.

GOG forum members lack that thing. Yes, you two included.
My bad. I was having a crap day, totally admit it.

Continue Gog'ers.
Nope, I've only ever had a few problems during huge sales.
Perhaps a lot of people are downloading W3.

amok: You keep saying this, I was just wondering where you got this information from? have you got any evidence for this?

Johnathanamz: Sigh. How many times do I have to say just go use google.com if you want to find information. All of the information you ever need to find exists on google.com.
nah, i prefer you to evidence your claims, I really cant be bothered. The onus of evidence is on the claimant.

Remember, Defenders quest dev said GoG was 2nd in sales of their game so they much be the #2 distributor, am I right?

I'll ask the question I always ask when someone spouts that off. How can you be the #2 digital game distributor when you only sell a third of all games that everyone else carries?

Nobody answers that question btw.

It seems like a daily thing now where someone brings up something about Steam (whether it simply be a question or something else) and some forum members need to go on some tirade about Valve/Steam. If you don't like Steam or are not interested in it, why do you go into these threads with Steam in the title.

Yeah, that's the statistic that get quoted most.... and if I remember correctly DQ was sold on gOg for almost 2-3 months before it came out on Steam.

There is as far as I know no sale figures that do prove exactly the ranking of the DD stores, only a couple of indies which have discussed sales figures for their individual games. I was hoping Johnathanamz actually had some hard facts, but I guess not.

I think you need another 5 min....

the problem is that neither of those articles mentions gOg's market share (the closest I could find was a mention that Steams estimated market share is 70%), nor can I at a glance see anywhere it mentioned that gOg is the second largest DD store. SO unless I missed it (I did only skim read) non of these articles actually back up Johnathanamz's claims.

results are ...inconclusive and vauge

wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GOG.com
polygon http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/21/5913763/gog-com-back-catalog-new-releases
mcv http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/breaking-the-steam-monopoly/0123983

none of these mention any concrete numbers they just see gog as the monopoly breaker

but the same could be said arguably for origin

indeed
Well, at least it let me play TeamFortress 2 an hour ago. I had to stop playing though as I got pissed off to my teammates who wouldn't help me at all with that enemy demoman and two spies who kept attacking me and my sentry gun together. I felt like I was defending alone the whole base, others were just fooling around.

I can't blame Steam for that though.

see above. Please help me, I must be very thick. I can not find anywhere anything that substantiate your claims. I know it is probably my fault for not doing it correctly, so some aid would be welcome.
I think Steam released an update recently that messed up some stuff, eg, all Reviews were gone and the rating (like Positive/Negative on a store page) was gone).
