I chose to leave the "normal" homepage behind the moment they introduced Blast From the Past.

Reznov64: I just encountered this issue today and now the GOG homepage which I have had bookmarked for years suddenly defaults to the Polish language.
Delete the gog_lc cookie (in Firefox: F12, storage, cookies, https://www.gog.com/) so the location detection can run again, or put any item into your basket and then go to checkout, which will also re-run the location detection.

Issue still persisted after the cookie was removed. I noticed a new change in the URL, it was showing https://www.gog.com/pl/ instead of the old URL which was https://www.gog.com/, so I changed it to https://www.gog.com/en/ and it is back to English.
