It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Is anyone battling to log into the GOG downloader at present?

I'm getting an error message saying "The email or password is incorrect". I've tried it with and without the two-step login enabled.

I'm running IE11 on Win7 64bit.
I just came back to my PC (Win7x64) after starting a series of GOG Downloader dl's about 3 hours ago (7 games at about 7GB total size); and it looks like they all dl'd successfully; so, nope - no known issue here.

Ofc, until I install some of them (which I will a little later tonight); I won't really know if all is well. But I didn't notice any "battling " going on..

umm... Clear your cookies?

I'd probably go into the actual app folder and try deleting the GoGDownloader caches and see if logging in afterwards helps. But that's just a guess.

I must say to add a bit to rtcvb32 ^^ comment, I did not see any difference.

MIGHT sound a bit ....hm....strange, but are you sure you use the right email address, so the one which you can find under your account? Just a wild guess as well ;)
Just an update: it ended up being an intermittent issue, so maybe GOG's servers were just overwhelmed at the time or there was a temporary technical glitch.

I was just a bit nervous that something had happened to the downloader because I was getting the GOG bear whenever I tried to view a thread after doing a search for "gog downloader" such as this one: Q: Is GOG Downloader still supported by GOG, or are they scrapping it?. But GOG search may just be temperamental.

If I can't log onto the downloader again in future, I'll just wait 30 minutes and then try again.

Thanks to all posters above for their feedback though.

First you arrrre welcome.

They did remove the official linking for it, but it is still there, just a hidden feature. And in case as a general search tip:

Use your favourite browser and type:
site:www.gog.com gogdownloader.exe

first hit (at least for me).

What does it do?
It restricts the search to (here) www.gog.com, and just looking for the search-terms you enter afterwards.

Thanks Goodaltgamer. Fortunately I have the downloader downloaded. I was just worried that GOG might have "retired" the downloader when I wasn't able to log in, especially when I then searched for threads on the downloader to see if anyone else was having problems but just ended up with the GOG bear.

In hindsight I was just being needlessly paranoid and just needed to be a little more patient, especially in light of GOG's recent sale as their download servers were probably being hammered a fair bit.

You arrre again welcome

Out of your join date I would assume that you know the problems with sales ;)
But same as with paranoia and assumptions, two of the worst best friends ;)

For your information, GOG will retire the downloader at some point, but they did not indicate when. And we have not seen any indication on either side. GOG stayed silent on it.
I believe it has something to do with recaptcha - which GoG Downloader does not support. If you log into the website first any further logins from the same ip would require recaptcha for a certain amount of time. Since the downloader has no way of entering recaptcha verification it returns a "email/password incorrect" error.

If you're like me and obsessively logout* of everything every time - next time you login start with the downloader first.

*This is incidentally how I discovered this in the first place.

[EDIT] I've raised the issue in the past where one could brute force passwords through the downloader API. This takes care of that. At least it's better than removing the downloader completely.

Thanks. I'll give that a try next time.
Same problem here. Every time I try to loggin in the downloader it says ''email/password is incorrect'', but I very certain email and password are ok. There're no problems with loggin in the web, just with downloader. I try to reinstall and to apply ''regfix'' archive, but nothing happen.
If you are getting an error message saying "The email or password is incorrect". I solved it with disabling the two-step login. Two-step login was the culprit in my case.
In my case, today with a first-ever installation of GOG Downloader under Windows 10, I input my credentials and hit the submit button, the green button turns into a "Please wait" button, and... nothing else ever happens. The DL window and the Login window both stays stationary and if I try to close the login window it says "you must login first" or something like that.

I just just logged in to GOG.COM successfully with Edge with 2FA turned on, and had planed to download No Man's Sky. I kinda thought the downloader might also be trying to prompt me for a 2FA, but logging into the DL did not generate a new email, so I'm kinda stuck right now. I guess I'll come back later and see if it works then??
