amrit9037: When are you going to complete your deal?
Did he scam you?
Or better, did you really go first in the deal? O_o
I was just trying to help a fellow community member.
I went first because at that time there were no game on sale which interested me.
Still can't say about getting scammed.
Because I haven't saw him online since 3-4 days on gog but he is online everyday on steam.

I haven't lost faith in community. Not yet. :)
So after a work around I managed to send him a message.
And got a reply.
Now I think I am officially scammed.

Im not sure I think you need to be too hard on yourself, there is a line where the risk is not worth it and I dont think you went over that line - maybe just about as close as you can be, but still on it so I personally think it was a risk worth taking. I would have done so if I had been able to (didnt even see this topc until now) and I wouldnt change that "line" just because of this.

I realize you were trying to be helpful but don't be naive about it and ignore that A) the opening post was kind of fishing for a benefit/giveaway to begin with and B) scammers are definitely out there, every single day.

I'm not saying you shouldn't try to be helpful/generous, but there's ways to do it without opening yourself up to getting scammed. In this case, not going first.

The more people manage to get scammed, the worse the problem will get.

At least there appears to be some truth to him being scammed before, though I guess the 'lesson learned' statement he made wasn't quite what people were expecting.

This should be a lesson for all of us, whenever we can and want we should only help 'community members' we trust.

What "community"? Are you part of it? Why don't you learn?

I've never been scammed by other GOG users, I'm so damn smart I guess. I presume I am not part of the "community" then.
