Polly77: Have you reported the scam to Steam?

I realise he's already banned on SteamRep, but if the guys still scamming people there's no way this should ever be revoked, so I'd let Steam know what's happened to you.

If it's possible, would it be justifiable to leave a comment on his profile for others to read? Would that be overstepping any boundaries? What are the likely repercussions? Others here will undoubtedly know more about this kind of thing than me. I've only traded once in my gaming life with a great guy here on GOG, but the first thing I did was to check his profile and I daresay he did the same with mine.
Well, I assume you know about Steam's trade system do you ? It is used to trade cards/items.

What we (I) did was to trade a game code via chat which while not illegal, officially its not something they like very much anyway. So it's not their fault, but mine.

Also, what a poor soul. He feel like he got scammed: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Arkhanda/recommended/275850/
Love the response :D

Neat!

What a ****!
Without knowing the facts, however, it seems like you also feel "scammed" by the game, from that reply.

Gonen32: Very well. The whole chatlog is documanted. Is it obvious that you scammed me. You have one hour do your part, or I will file a complaint to steamrep and make the hole you stand in even deeper.

You trusted someone named "Filthy Casual"? :P

Realistically speaking, you can't. There's no real mechanism for enforcing accountability with trades. The closest thing to doing it would be a trusted escrow system for games like the community-run effort that was attempted (and failed) here.

You can say whatever you want, but aside from filing those complaints, the best thing to do would be to eliminate people like that from your life entirely, think of it as a lesson learned, and refrain from trading with randoms. Or even better still, don't trade at all.

Gonen32: *title*.

It was my fault. That guy is a reported scammer on Steam Rep but he made a good impression and it was long since I got scammed so I havn't checked him before.

Anyway, any ideas ?
Yeah,stop star gazing.
test post
Would anyone want to check if the Chivalry key is actually used or not ? I don't care about it.
Hire an ace hacker like the Seth Green character in The Italian Job to destroy their lives.

OK, I've got a solution for you, but you probably won't like it. Check it out:

In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

PS - I love it when a plan comes together.

No, judging from the shady character even if it was an active key it could have been bought with a stolen credit card or something.

It's his key, he gave it to the 'hacker', they said they haven't used it.

Oh, I misunderstood that part. In that case, I could test it (or anyone), however testing a key redeems it if you do not already own the game and it is a valid key. I don't think there is a way to test a Steam key without it becoming permanently bound to the account in question, unless the person already owns the exact game in which case it will give an error.

Re-reading things again I'm not sure why I got that mixed up. :) Could be it's way past my bed time... :)
