Looking for a free-to-play MMORPG with an active and friendly community. Basically looking for a guild and a place to feel social and hang around, more than the game itself. Has to kind of be an RPG though, don't really want to do the Second Life stuff. I'm looking at Star Trek Online, EVE (when it goes f2p later this fall) and maybe Runescape or Neverwinter as possibilities. Taking any and all suggestions that fit the description, thanks.

Have you tried Ryzom? I haven't played for a good while, but it seemed decent enough when I tried it. Perhaps I should go play that a bit again, I do have it installed after all.

Nearly 2 years ago I tried FireFall and found it sufficiently fun and social-ish... However now it's added in all the boxes and keys and elements to bring in korean players and some of the features didn't even work... So there's that.
