ZFR: Grim Fandango is something I meant to play since it came out but never got around to. I've got the remastered on GOG but the purist in me wants to try the original...
Grim Fandango is one of the few remasters where I wouldn't try to play the original. Not because it's so greatly enhanced, but because it really changes very little, but the one thing it does differently - the controls - are IMO worth it alone. And you can always play with the old controls if you want.

ZFR: Yup, the Meccaryn missions in Giants: Citizen Kabuto had a similar style humour.

Breja: If you liked the humor in that, Armed and Dangerous by the same devs is a must play.
What abouut Armed & Delirious?
Haven't played Psychonauts yet, but the Monkey Island games (same devs I think).

Other games with humor, Anachronox, MDK 1-2, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Messiah, Earthworm Jim, Total Overdose, Star Control 2, No One Lives Forever 1-2.

Breja: Stick it to the Man is the closest I can think of.
Psychonauts is one of a kind, but this was the first game that came to my mind as well. Not sure if it can match up to the kid humour at camp, but the general vibe and art design are a bit similar.

Day of the Tentacle hasn't explicitly been named yet, maybe you would like that one, too?

I tried that but found the gameplay pretty bad, repetitive and boring. It didn't feel as much fun as Giants or Psychonauts. Or maye it just has a rough start?

The gameplay isn't great, although I think it's perfectly fine, if simplistic. It gets more fun when you have the guns like the Land Shark Launcher or that topsy-turvy thing that kills people by rotating the world upside down and back so they fall off. But really it's the cut-scenes that make the game, the writing is just hilarious. If you don't like the gameplay at all, I guess you can just watch the cut scenes on YT.

OK, thanks again for the suggestions.

If it's witty humor you're mostly looking for, you could also try Earthworm Jim, though I'd recommend the cartoons first (one of my favorites), then the first two games, otherwise you'll miss a lot of references. That is if you're a fan of platformers, otherwise just stick to the cartoons. Also, watch out for those cows.

The show was based on the games, not the other way around.

I know, but I still think the games are more enjoyable after you watch the show. As someone who happened to take it in that order anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm the "watch-in-release-order" though type of person. But I'll definitely keep Earthworm Jim in mind.

This doesn't look half bad. I'll wishlist.

I'll probably come back to this thread during the Chtristmas sale and buy a couple of titles.

Never heard of this but it looks very interesting. Its entry on the community wishlist just got another vote. Thank you.
