It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

nightcraw1er.488: If the problem still exists make a new topic, its not very likely that nothing to do with the post has not changed in 2.5 years, although it may be the case in this instance.
As someone who moderators quote a few few tech support forums and understands that people actually occasionally use google to find help for their problem, it's better to have everything in a single thread instead of spread out all over the place.

Feel free to disagree though. The topic (edit: closing and opening past forums and blog threads) has been beat around for many years with no one right answer.

Having said that, instead of using a public vpn or one from a provider, the poster may want to consider getting a cheap vps and setting up something like openvpn themselves. Netflix seems to be shutting down access on the vpn companies when they detect them. Having a single IP address in a range probably isn't something that they're going to detect.

I use this with wikipedia. The library's IP address is long blocked due to abuse and it;s the only way I can do the occasional edit.

Kristian: So our TV provider finally decided to port their on demand app(that works fine on my dad's IPad) to Androidbut it turns out that that yet again we in the Faroe Islands are regionally blocked just as we are with all paid apps(although this particular app is free). This is the app in question: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.canaldigital.go&rdid=com.canaldigital.go

Any suggestions?
You can use a proxy from another country to avoid these problems.

pay $40(US) a year for Private Internet Access, A VPN that will allow you to basically be from anywhere. I use it to get around ridiculous (and fraudulent) copyright censorship on videos whose entire use, by definition is fair use (some are satirical videos, etc). It's inexpensive (US $40 a year, that's about $3.33 US a month) and easy to use, and works o mobile devices as well as Windows/Mac/Linux.

Then you can enjoy getting around cheesy blocks and stupid arbitrary boundaries on an international internet.
Yes! This regional block sucks however you can always install an .apk file either way. Make sure to turn on "Unknown Sources" from Settings. Hope it helps :)

The problem is many of those VPN services have known IP ranges and place like Netflix block them.

Please reference the link I gave a few posts up.

That's why i suggested getting a cheap VPS and setting up OpenVPN or even creating just a SSH tunnel and doing it yourself.

It won't be a flagged IP. As long as you don;t share it of course. ;)
