EDIT

Nevermind LOL I talked myself out of it within 10 minutes of typing it up

Will ask mods to delete. Funny that putting stuff "on paper" is sometimes all it takes.

Ixamyakxim: Should I not be concerned, or are rollbacks, unsolvable glitching and bluescreens just an odd way of AMD life?
Not sure where you got that from, but that's never been the case.

And both companies have had, and will have, driver issues.

I'll make it quick as I did ask for a delete but for some reason I had always "heard" (read on Tomshardware / picked up just generally on places like here) that AMD was a bit... quirky. Of course, most of this was from around 3 - 5 years ago and specifically with newer AAA games on release (which won't really apply to me).
I wish you wouldn't get this thread closed, I love watching AMD vs nvidia fights.
I have an R9 390. I'm having no driver issues and it's performing well.

AMD cards seem to be roughly neck-on-neck with nVidia cards of the same price. The differences at the moment are mainly that AMD has far more memory but uses more electricity than nVidia. Also I hear nVidia's OpenGL and DirectX performance are roughly the same, while AMD's OpenGL is slightly behind.

You should be alright whichever brand you choose. The only reason I'd strongly recommend one over the other is your monitor - if you happen to have one that supports FreeSync then go with AMD, and if you have a G-Sync monitor then go with nVidia. (Most monitors support neither though, so this probably doesn't apply)
