When you don't know why the ring was made it make me question if you can be any more than a casual enjoyer who just watched the movies and that's it.

Wait, they dont know why Sauron made the one ring “to rule them all”? Something we learn in the first 5 minutes of the movie?

IP laws arnt terrible but there are issues with them that are ripe for abuse. Disney is infamous for this, using IP laws to prevent both their own properties (Mickey) from going into public domain while constantly using public domain for their own work. The original Marvel creators should get some rights for creating these multi-billion IPs but just riding off your ancestors coattails isnt great either.

And the funniest part is - you can't. No matter how hard you will try, those people will find something that offends them.
Black Panther? That had an entirely black cast and political story? It didn't point at white men as the source of all evils clear enough!
Horizon Forbidden West? With a "strong female protagonist" who solves all the world's problems? Developers "appropriated" Native American culture!

And so on. Those people don't even buy games or pay for movies, as they think everything should be free (at least for them).

P.S. I've watched "Tolkien superfans" for less than a minute. "Sauron is hot!" made me cringe and turn the video off.

I aimed to be fair with it (and still do) by giving it a few episodes before I judge it but that video made me cringe hard and definitely has me a lot more worried about it.

Sauron is known as the deceiver and is a godlike being in the Tolkein-verse. Its well known that attractive people are also better at deceiving people. Sauron has to be hot AF lol.
