I just got these games free. I also got the Devil May Cry HD free too (first Capcom game is free for Twitch client). This is great, it will give Steam more competition.

Do you actually get them, or is it just rentware?
I will immediately dispatch an elite team to search for some fucks to give about Twitch, though frankly I very much doubt there are any to be found.

They claim you get to keep them but it requires an Amazon Prime subscription, making them not free. You also have to install the Twitch desktop client in order to get to them.

Most of the games look like things you can already get here.

The games only work with the Twitch client, similar to Steam. As long as Twitch stays in business, you can download and play the games on their client, just like Steam DRM. Since Twitch was bought by Amazon (i think), it should be around for a very long time.
And what happens if after a year you stop having Amazon Prime? Do you keep the games, do they disappear from your account or do you lose access to the client? If you keep them, ok, but still, will the games get patches if needed or they will be abandoned?

Your games on Twitch is permanently in your Twitch library even if you cancel your Amazon Prime subscription. You can download and play the games as long as Twitch stays in business.

Humble does something similar with their Monthly program and their Trove offerings:

It's still deceptive for them to say that these are free. If you have to pay to get them, then by definition they aren't free.

But you won't get 2-day free delivery, cloud storage, tv/movie streaming service, streaming music, among others with Humble. =P It's hardly comparable.

Heat Signature is one of them, it is not here but it bloody brilliant. it is by Tom Francis, who also made Gunpoint and Morphblade, also very good games. Heat Signature is DRM free on Humble, by the way

Well, they are free if you've subscribed to Amazon Prime anyway, in order to make use of their other services like Prime Video or faster shipping. They're not free, if you subscribe to Amazon Prime only to get "free" games. But then again, if you've never subscribed to Amazon Prime before, you can test it for free for one month and then cancel the subscription again, and in that case you will get the games of that month without paying anything. If you can put up with all the hassle of creating extra accounts and running games via online clients, I'd say it's not too bad considering you can get a high priced game like Shadow Tactics that way. Of course, you could also just buy it here.

Where did you read anything about Heat Signature being among the Twitch Prime games? Or did you mean Humble Trove?
