pds41: Thanks for the update - I claimed earlier today before Oblivion appeared - might have missed it without this!

Oddly, I can't see House of 1000 Doors on my prime page. Wondering if it's region restricted.
It shows up on the US page, but has the following message at the top of the page for 1000 Doors:

"This offer is currently experiencing issues and is temporarily unavailable. Please check back later."

From experience from playing the second and third House of 1000 Doors games, this is a junk pile hidden object game with a just okay plot. I don't think anyone is missing anything if they don't play any of these.

Thanks for checking - I don't think I'll feel like I'm missing out if I don't get offered it!

I'm quite tempted to try Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion - mainly because it has a comedy name...

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion appears to be a Zelda-style game in terms of gameplay and based on reviews, it is short. Trailer video on the GOG store page -
https://www.gog.com/game/turnip_boy_commits_tax_evasion

It could be worth picking up.

Interesting, I did the same with Stellaris but assumed it's because I got first copy of Stellaris through GOG Connect and therefore it's somehow differently registered on account (although my order history shows Stellaris x2 now). But now it appears there is something different with these Amazon keys so GOG doesn't recognize them correctly before activation? I wonder how this works.

Respect!
And now I've got Oblivion iny library!

I'm glad they keep giving away GOG games with Amazon Prime, even if it's not every month.

I really don't get the way GOG is dealing with all this and why it's still a thing. Internally they can do whatever they want, if it's more convenient for them then it's fine to create multiple virtual products all pointing to the same actual product, but we as users shouldn't be suffering the consequences of that, what's going on backstage should be invisible to us.

It shouldn't be that hard to fix and prevent it from happening, both this and all mismatches between our libraries and the shop in reference to the titles we own.

Thank you for your sacrifice. :)

Reason behind this is, when you buy Oblivion from the store, you actually get a package with a different product ID. Inside that package is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition Deluxe plus The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall as free goodies because these games are always included when you buy a Bethesda game.

This Amazon giveaway however only gives you the main game, Oblivion. And the base game itself has its own product ID different from the package ID that you'll get when purchasing the game directly off the store.

This is also why the game is not marked als "owned" in the GOG store, even though it sits in your library.

All very true.

I assume the last sentence refers to the case where the game was obtained from Amazon. If one bought Oblivion, the store item is marked as "owned".

I've redeemed the code from Amazon and I've got Arena and Daggerfall for free as well.

The GOG shop still allows me to buy Oblivion / does not show it is in my libabry.

So the game ID seems to be different but the whole package is the same.

Are you sure you didn't have Arena and Daggerfall before? They come with many other Bethesda games you buy, not just Oblivion (e.g. most Wolfenstein games, all Doom games, all Elder Scrolls games, all Fallout games, all Quake games, etc.).

They appeared as "new" on my games list, next to Oblivion.
I second that the Amazon code for Oblivion also adds Elder Scrolls 1 & 2 to your library if you didn't already own them.
