"When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s Alien: Earth.

In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named “Wendy” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined."
So it's not a movie but a new streaming series?

I had to look up some stuff on Wikipedia. Maybe it is of interest for other non-Americans too:

Alien: Earth is set to premiere on FX and FX on Hulu on August 12, 2025.
___

FX is an American pay television channel owned by FX Networks, a division of the Disney Entertainment business segment of the Walt Disney Company. Based at the Fox Studios lot in Century City, Los Angeles, FX was originally launched by the first-incarnation News Corporation on June 1, 1994,[5] and later became one of the properties that was included in Disney's acquisition of one of News Corporation's successor companies, 21st Century Fox, in 2019.
___

FX Networks, LLC, commonly known as FX Networks, is an American media company built around FX, FXX, and FX Movie Channel, plus their associated production company, FX Productions, and is a subsidiary of Disney General Entertainment Content, the television division of the Disney Entertainment business segment of the Walt Disney Company.

Unfortunately. The trailer actually looks fine, but I expect the usual "Material for a good 2 hour movie stretched out into 6-10 hours of boring television".
Allan, please add Alien Scene.
Scott is executive producer so not interested. Ruins everything he touches these days.

g2222:
Maybe Disney brings it later to any streaming service they own that operates outside US?
Just as with Alien: Romulus, the actors are talentless and offer zero credible 'stage presence'.

Cinema (including the not-so-culturally-significant varieties of film), as we once knew it, is certainly a withered husk of its prior (1960 to approximately 1999) form. For the purpose of focusing primarily on special effects (and, at the expense of proper writing and iconic performances), studios simply hire those with limited acting ranges and/or abilities (often with poor inflection).

In comparison, the original Alien (1979) possesses all of the qualities in which the 'modern' productions of the franchise sorely lack. It is hoped, albeit naively, that younger generations (eventually) broaden their horizons and embrace remarkable older works (even if only for their pure entertainment value), as they begin to realize the extent of the overall decline in film-making standards.

That's a bit of an overstatement. The Last Duel was very good. He was also the executive producer on Blade Runner 2049, which was great, and a producer for all three of Kenneth Branagh's Poirot movies, which I also thought were very good.

That's quite unfair, at least the guy playing the android Andy was very good.

I hope it's a nice serie. I have not watched Alien: Romulus and I did not understand Prometheus. Maybe in Alien: Earth they can develop a new and interesting approach about the aliens

You haven't missed anything by not watching Romulus. It's garbage like Prometheus and Covenant. I doubt Earth will be of any difference, might visually look appealing like Prometheus but that's about it.

Breja: The Last Duel
Haven't seen it - and looking it up, not something I'd bother with.

Breja: Blade Runner 2049
Hated it.

Branagh probably doing all the work there then. Again though, not films I'd bother with so haven't seen them.
