I mean, I do not really play against other players as I am too bad.

Yes. There are maybe half a dozen of us, and we pretty much only use PBEM, but we're here.

you guys play by IP or other means I know game range supports age of wonders shadow magic.

We use an email wrapper, and we play by email. Games take place over the course of weeks (usually); we don't play a game in an afternoon.

Make sure you are using Upatch 1.4. There is a sticky thread in the Age of Wonders sub forum about it.
