Its promoId is x_promo and https://www.gog.com/promo/x_promo redirected to homepage.

Sorry, but I have no clue about what you're asking. If something doesn't work properly - you can ask GOG support.

plagren: Awesome! Thank you.
Thank you for your assistance with keeping the covers up to date, I've fixed the server side code so it should do it automatically now, hopefully even the bundled games, so you should have to do as much (or anything).

MarkoH01: Looks great. Thank you.
See above, thanks for your help :)

Err ... I don't know anything about GOG API - maybe instructions for a newbie how to reach those legacy/gogmix pictures?

I will if I need to, but the beauty is you shouldn't need to do it manually at all now as even the packaged games come linked to a cover and I've updated the server script to do it automatically again.

I've weeded out a few covers that hadn't updated and rerun the script and it seems to be working, so we should be mostly good from here, but obviously let me know if anything does come up missing and I'll see what I can do (and come up with an easy way to extract the legacy images from the API)

Wow thank you. So it seems as if legacy covers should work again. Thank you GOG and especially Johny for this as well.

Just out of curiositiy I think I found out the way.
1) I would put this link into my browser "api.gog.com/v2/games/1499274528" (with 1499274528 being the game id)
2) Save the file and open it with notepad
3) Search in it for the string "boxartimage" and I would find the downloadlink for the cover (with "\ /" standing for \\)

Correct?

Yes, that's it (though you don't even need to save it really, I just search on the page).
Using a formatter (like this one https://jsonformatter.curiousconcept.com/) can make it a bit more readable too if you want (or are just curious to see what else is there like me :D).

I am unable to open the link as a page to search on it. FF always shows me the dialogue asking me if it should save it or open with a certain program.

Odd... not sure why it would do that, my FF actually opens it and formats it (which is handy for future reference as Chrome doesn't), though admittedly that's the updated FF and not the ESR version so the behaviour may be different.

In that case, yes just save it and search (or load the link directly into the site I linked before and it will process it)
So, with these new covers we should now have covers for a lot of the old games that had to be manually sorted out and have covers made.

I can rescan these ones and replace them with the 'official' ones or I can leave them as they are.
What does everyone think?

I vote for replacing.

I just took the opportunity to compare the originals with the ones made by plagren (thank you again for the great work). I thought it would be best that everybody could decide WHAT he is giving up / getting so here are the covers since the GOGmixes aree gone and handmade covers needed to be made. For Zwei: The Arges Adventure as of now there is no original cover available (it says "null" in the file).

My vote: I would like the original covers but of course only with the cover for Zwei being there as well.

Johny just told me that not every game will have box art covers so at least for Zwei (and maybe others) we will have to keep the handmade ones.
