"Less than a month after it was reported that Activision had told Blizzard to cut costs, it is paying its new chief financial officer a signing bonus worth $15 million (distributed as $3.75 million in cash and $11.3 million in restricted stock tied to performance targets, according to Bloomberg). That's on top of a $900,000 salary."

3,75$ signing bonus...oh well, luckily a couple of months ago i deleted my battlenet account. I guess it was the right decision of mine. I will go ahead for asking my chief if he can offer me a signing bonus as well...let´s say 500€...so he can´t say i am too greedy.

Please: no rants or envy discussions. That's not what I'm talking about. it's just that when i read this type of "news" i realize how little i understand this world. but somehow I always have to smile while reading ... I suppose: that's something, right?

You'll be waiting a very long time then.
At least, 3/4 of the bonus relies on 'results'.

But dang, that much money would buy a lot of QA time for the products.

Edit: a comma makes a big difference.

activision does not own blizzard, blizzard is a bigger company cos they actually make stuff what does activision have gamewise apart from COD, if activision did control blizzard there would be gear and weapons on the blizzard store

Activison does own Blizzard. Blizzard is part of Activision Blizzard which in turn was owned by Vivendi Games which merged with Activision to form Activision Blizzard.
"Modern games are too expensive to make, so mircrotransactions are a necessity".

Boo-hoo.

blizzard bought out vivendi, and the games that have lootbox style system are HOTS,HS and overwatch, i disabled payments on my bnet account and removed my WOW sub now i jsut buy 6 months gametime, why? you ask cos blizzard in the UK.
atleast used to have a direct debit system which was removed and now its mandatory for you to have apayment method on your account if you pay a sub to wow or just have it saved anyways, i do not cos i think its a scumbag thing to do when they know they dnt need to do that.

This is factually inaccurate. Blizzard is owned by Activision.

Vivendi brought out Blizzard. Vivendi was Blizzards parent company. They got brought out by Activison. Activison then renamed itself to Activision Blizzard.

Yeah, because economic fundamentals have never looked better. lol
There are many reasons I have not bought anything from Blizzard since 2010, and likely will never again. How much they pay some guy is not one of those reasons. If they ever release something I'm legitmately interested in, DRM-free (which is not goingto happen), then I will buy it regardless of whether they pay their chief financial officer a billion dollars per hour in golden toilet seats.
