FFS, I'm not 'pissing on your leg and telling you it's raining' or defending GOG's practices. Just trying to provide some information.

lazydog: I know why GOG defend the practice, but am at a loss as to why you condone it and dismiss it in the same paragraph?
I neither condone nor dismiss it. Not sure how you even read that into my post, FFS. As noted in my previous, I'm just providing info. Believe what you want. I'm done here.

GR00T: According to GOG, this isn't the intent (despite the fact that it really appears that way). Apparently this greatly cuts down on support requests from people that want the client but weren't getting it, or from people that wanted to know why they weren't getting Cloud Saves, 'cheevos, etc. They could definitely have set it up far better than it is though, as it's far too easy to install Galaxy accidentally the way they've chosen to set it up.
That is only true, if you believe them (I‘m not saying that you are), which I do as much as they have delivered an option for the default installer. They only proclaimed this, but never showed any proof to back it up. As far as I‘m concerned, they are trying to trick people into downloading their drm client.
