Only played and beaten Serious Sam the first encounter still need to play the second encounter to end and would like to see Serious Sam 2 and 3 here. But maybe they been dipped into drm too much and they don't bother to remove it or it could be too hard to remove it or something.
Serious Sam 2 seems like such a fever dream, all the toy enemies/etc. Reminds me somewhat of 'Super Mario 2'.

That is my canon for the game. Sam sleeps for the first time in days aboard the starship from the end of 2nd encounter and the entire game is a fever dream. And the next game would just start with Sam waking up.

Or the game should have had the subtitle - "Sam's funky fungus adventure".

IIRC, it was the publisher mandate back then (2K), for the game to be this wacky. Also, the simultaneous push to also release for XBOX really kneecapped the level design. Really glad it was only a one-off and they returned to the established Sam formula in the later games.

There was even a plan to remake the game in a more "serious" tone to make the game more in line with the actual story/canon, but it was sadly cancelled.

I'm actually enjoying SS2, but I find the 'serious' ones more appealing.

idbeholdME: Others are just remasters/re-releases or spin-offs.
Talking about the remasters/re-releases:

The TFE/TSE HD versions are very different from TFE and TSE classics in my view.
The graphics are much better and the physics are very different too, changing practically the way you handle many enemies and play the game. Gun impacts are stronger and the feeling is overall much better, in my opinion, for a FPS like this.

I own them on Steam and in any case like this I'd normally just use community tools to make them DRM-Free, but CroTeam is really pro DRM with some of their games and SS3 DRM is also present on TFEHD, TSEHD and the software that link both games in one, so you can't really do much here. (If you try to back them up and remove any kind of DRM, the game breaks, just like with SS3.)

Don't know if its lazyness or if Croteam lost the code to remove the DRM from these games, but they should be here.
They're TFE and TSE, but better. Unfortunately, it seems they will never bring them here.
I also can't understand why SS Classic collection isn't here either, as both TFE and TSE are.

Bleh... :/

Yes, they are different. As you mentioned, the most important is the physics. Which is why I personally will probably never play the HD versions. When being hit by a Werebull just doesn't send me flying the way it should, it doesn't feel right. And many other things, like diffefences in enemy behavior or minute things like Kleers always falling apart instead of sometimes just falling over when dying. I've played too much of the Classics to completely change the way I learned the game works.

Even more importantly, the level parts with the gimmicky physics had to be changed because the newer engine does not support them.

Pirates could do it, so that excuse really isn't valid. I have a pirated version Serious Sam 3 + Jewel of the Nile and it works without issues. Even downloaded some Workshop mods (through SteamCMD) and they work fine.

Subjective. For someone who never played the games - probably. For purists - most likeky not.

That's fair and I agree about the subjective part, yes it is.
Also, had no idea about SS3 and never really travelled the seas searching for the HD versions as I deemed them not worth the time, even owning them already and not being able to play them as I don't use Steam launcher to play anymore.
