Vythonaut: Congrats TT_TT_TT_TT! :)

tykinruoka: A different example is the original Doom. When it came out, it was something really new and great in so many ways but today, I don't want to play it anymore. Doom did not age well.

Vythonaut: I beg to differ; Doom still evokes the same joy to me, even if the labyrinthian level design can be a pain in the bottoms at times. Not to mention the lovely soundtrack that every metalhead should be familiar with.

By the way, apart from the original Doom, did you try any WADs? Nowadays, when i feel like returning to Doom, i always dedicate some time to visit this website: https://www.doomworld.com/10years/bestwads/
Doom is not labyrinthine by any stretch of the imagination.

Wolfenstein 3D was infamous for being labyrinthine back in the day.

tykinruoka: Yes I did :-) Me and my friends made some of our own levels/WADs when the very first editors were made available. I spent many many hours with Doom and there are lots of good memories.

Vythonaut: Cool! I've been into modding myself back then (StarCraft & Viper Racing), though i don't think there's any of it available today. By the way, are your WADs available somewhere to try them or were they made just for your personal fun?
You may want to check (if you did not already) the documentary miniseries High Score (available in Netflix) The last episode talks about Doom and the phenomenon it was

A good miniseries, it starts with Atari and gets to the beginning of 3-D games

It deserves to be in the GOG video service as well...

Will do, thanks!
