Hello!

If I buy a game from a site from another country, will I get their version or the NTSC-U version? I'm asking this because I know that some games have regional differences.

Thank you for replying.

What store are you talking about? Steam? PSN? Something else? Not all stores treat regions the same way.

Also, what does isthereanydeal have to do with this?

Also, the PAL/NTSC distinction neither exists nor make sense on PC (nor really on modern consoles, the only reason for region coding still existing there are because the publishers can - the console creators make it possible by including functions for it in the OS).

When I go to isthereanydeal they would sometimes have a bargain from a site that is from another country, like gamesplanetuk. I was referring to PC games, and most of them are from Steam, which is what I had in mind.

Anything with online-connecting (like steam) might have a regional lockout.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout

So it rather depends on the game would you want to buy.

But also for steam there are differences as some games bought in specific regions can NOT be used outside this region, I remember a thread about it that a Turkish guy wanted to make a present to a Swedish person and he couldn't.

So in the worst case you might end up having bought a game/code for nothing.

But normally uk and Canada shall work (for steam), except maybe with regional lockout (for the game itself)/

EDIT: Japan region is heavy on both!

Oh, I see, you are talking about buying from non-native key resellers. Most games don't have different regions, so it shouldn't matter if you buy from a UK or US reseller. The few exceptions are reserved for games that their publishers felt it necessary to create a specific version for a specific region (like Germany or Japan). For the most part, you should be fine buying keys from resellers, but there might be the one or two oddities that might warn you that your key will be no good outside your region (like Deep Silver's Steam keys).
Thanks for the info guys!
