Final Fantasy XV isn't new by any means, but it can still be reasonably demanding on the GPU at higher resolutions/settings and has a free benchmark tool. Hitman 3 has a free "starter pack" on the Epic Games Store, and it includes a benchmark for the game. It's pretty new and definitely a triple-A game, so it might be a solid choice for benchmarking modern game performance.

Orkhepaj: mine btc/eth for a year and see how much you got
But how do you decide when they inevitably all "mine" zero coins?

i wouldnt use games for benchmarks , they differ way too much from system to system

Mangohud+GLXgears.

Caveat emptor: I have no idea if either is on systems outside the Linux ecosystem!

The Unigine benchmarks (Heaven, Valley, Superposition) are very good. The installers are made with Inno Setup, so they can be easily extracted. Heaven is especially good if you wanna test system stability.

There's a new one (seen it today for the first time), GravityMark, but haven't tried it yet.

For CPU, I'll go with Linpack Xtreme, wPrime, Super Pi Mod (single thread), the one included in CPU-Z, and sometimes Cinebench R20.

Games with good built-in benchmarks are Ashes of the Singularity, Horizon Zero Dawn (somewhat), and probably the best one, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but that's only on Steam.

Few months ago I came across this list Games with built-in benchmarks, which I've found very useful.

I would not trust GeekBench or userbenchmark.

timppu: 3D Mark:
- It seems the free version is available only from Steam, so nope. I don't want to install Steam on each and every system just to run a benchmark.
You can get the trial version on some hardware publications like Techpowerup: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/futuremark-3dmark-timespy-raytracing/

It's the one I use and you have a few benchmarks, including Fire Strike and Time Spy. With the trial version you cannot register your results online, but you can see the full CPU and GPU scores.
