Looking for a blobber that allows me to use my brain and tools and character stats to pass obstacles. Something that gives me options. Utility spells that are more than just damage/heal/damage/heal. Something fantasy/medieval based. Currently playing MM6 and while it's fun, it feels more like an FPS with stats and shopping.

For instance, I reach a pit in a dungeon. I can:

A.) use a grapple hook to swing across (if my skill is high enough)
b.) pick a lock to bypass it. (if my skill is high enough)
c.) use a spell to fly over (if my skill is high enough)
d.) climb down and explore. (if my skill is high enough)
e.) find a hidden switch

you get the idea. choices. not in dialog, but in the actual adventure. I don't even care if these parts are text based. Something like Sorcery or PoE did this well.

Which of these games would best fit this?

Wizardry series (which one?)
Might and Magic 4/5??
Eye of Beholder series?
Realms of Arkania?
ANY OTHERS?

Really appreciate it.
Dragon Wars is my recommendation; there are many ways to escape the starting prison town, for example.

If you can read Japanese or are willing to try a translation patch, Wizardry Gaiden 4 (on the Super Famicom) would qualify as well, at least for a good portion of the game. (This is *not* the same game as Wizardry 4.)
