My wife is trying to recall a game she played back in the 90s or early 2000s. It was a strategy game like Starcraft or Heroes of Might and Magic. It had persistent hero characters you could level up and several races you could play like high elf, wood elf, undead, and human.

Some of the characters in the game would say phrases like, "I'm a reaver," and "For the moon king." She has a memory of those troops being the ones who could convert and claim buildings.

Does anyone recall the name of the game?

Thanks!

Was Warcraft 3 from the 90s? I can't recall now.

Maybe it was Warcraft 3? It sorta sounds like it and now that I Googled it, it's from 2002.

Warlords Battlecry III. Forgot which high elven unit says that :P.

Edit: It's indeed the moonguard (the high elven general). Your wife has a good memory :).

And you could play 3 campaigns I believe. The elf, undead and human.

Oh so it wasn't Warcraft 3 lol. I only thought of that since Starcraft was mentioned.

There are plenty of funny taunts in the game. The imp from the demon race comes to mind - it constantly screams "Be cruel to me, master!", every time you click on it :)). It's hard to ever forget these things :P.

Edit: Apparently it's the quasit, not the imp. My demonology's not what it used to be...

Haha I see what you mean. Come to think of it, you've got quite the quirky sense of humor yourself. I've seen some of it in the threads I sometimes posted to. It's good to have light heart, makes life that much sweeter. :)
