I cant seem to find the key required to enter the stoneworks, i was apparently given the item but i had a full inventory at the time? ive searched around the floor for it but cant seem to find it? Any help would be appreciated as i dont have any saves before this point. :/

Keys are never in inventory because they are not supposed to be sold or thrown away. They are listed as special items. The special item page is near quests / notes pages.

Do not worry about it. If the game says you have, then you have it.
