Just finished GF2 today. Gotta say, the character customization and paths & quests to choose makes it feels very much like a CYOA game.

GF2, I could definitely see myself playing again with a different character. The options available just really appealed to me for replay value.

GF1, I might or might not replay. Not to say it wasn't a great, enjoyable game, because it was. But the story in GF2 just feels more replayable to me.

Now what to play next...GF3, start the Avernum series, or start Avadon. I'm leaning a little towards Avernum 1.

I'm partial to Avernum 1, but keep in mind that it's older and has a clunkier interface. The first three Avernum games are more or less the same interface.

Haven't played Avadon, but it's the newest of the bunch and has brand new controls and systems.

Just started Avernum 1 tonight. I can definitely see what you mean about the clunky interface. It could definitely use some kind of "smart movement" to move around objects, and there are also some other minor things I noticed too, but having just left the first town I already find the feel of the game to be quite charming.

I'm going to scoot on over to the Avernum subforum now with whatever questions I come up with.
