Does it work on newer computers?

I came from Steam and I've ever had trouble (just some occasional crashes) with older games, but in the section review for this game I see that many people complain about Gangster not working properly...

I have purchased the game and it works (on windows 10, without installing any unofficial patch).
But there is a big problem: no text appears in the menu screen and the mouse lags =(

The game works for me, but I have to navigate to the installation folder and click on the gangsters.exe file directly, otherwise my computer freezes.

Once the game is patched, there should be little to no issues with playing the game.

worked on my old crappy laptop, not on my new pc, just get a ddrawer error when it tries to open and just closes. Should really not be getting sold in the state its in for newer machines or have a disclaimer
