I can't decide if I should download from here or get the Gabriel Knight Mysteries Edition from Amazon. I know the latter is more expensive and requires Windows 98, however, I'd like to be able to use General Midi for the music.

If I get Sins of the Father from here, which says it runs on Windows XP, will I be able to run it with General Midi music? I got a Sound Blaster EMU10K1 chipset and would love to play this game with General Midi.

The GOG version is the original version that runs within DOSBox and supports - of course - everything it originally did. Including General MIDI or even - if you are like me - your fancy MT-32.

In other words: Buy it here and forget everything else.

EDIT: I remember having problems with the MT-32 driver. I used the one from GK2 (where it isn't used) and it worked perfektly but General MIDI is no problem.

You should buy it from here. It works really well already and is probably the exact same version as the one from amazon. Plus it was on sale recently, great game.

What everyone else said, plus all the patches and bugfixes. Yeah! You won't realize your disc needs that bugfix until your game hangs right at the end. Welcome to my life.
